Information stored by the app
When you create a field package, Plotava stores the project name, imported plans, plan crops, photos, videos you intentionally capture, sketches, numbered points, dimensions, markup, notes, optional location metadata, and export history in the app’s private storage on your device.
Plotava does not require an account for this local project workflow. The app does not upload this project content to a Plotava-operated cloud service.
Camera, photos, files, and location
- Camera and photo library: accessed only when you choose to capture or import project evidence. Plotava’s experimental tape capture does not record audio.
- Files: accessed when you select a PDF, image, backup folder, or export destination.
- Location: requested only when you choose a location-related action, such as centering an aerial plan or attaching GPS accuracy to a field record.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in device settings. Existing projects remain available, but the related capture feature may be unavailable.
Aerial imagery and place search
On iOS, address and landmark searches use Apple MapKit. Search text and the search region are processed by Apple under Apple’s terms. When you preview or create an aerial plan in supported U.S. coverage, map bounds are requested from public USDA NAIP or USGS imagery services. The resulting image is then saved into the local project. Plotava does not use those requests to create an advertising profile.
Purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes subscription purchases and restores. Plotava receives entitlement status needed to unlock additional projects; the stores handle payment credentials under their own privacy policies. Plotava does not receive your full payment-card number.
Backups, exports, and sharing
Your operating system may include app data in device or cloud backups according to your device settings. When you export a Field Package, save a working backup, or use the system share sheet, the copy is handled by the destination you choose. Review that destination’s privacy and retention practices before sharing sensitive project information.
Analytics and advertising
Plotava does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or silent product analytics in this release.
Retention and deletion
Project data remains until you delete the project or uninstall the app, subject to copies in device backups or locations to which you exported it. Deleting a project removes its app-managed local files. A shared PDF or backup must be deleted from its destination separately.
Security
Plotava uses the operating system’s app sandbox and writes project manifests atomically with a local recovery copy. No method of storage is completely risk-free. Use device passcode protection and your organization’s approved sharing destinations for confidential records.
Children
Plotava is a professional field-work tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
